«Without a solution on immigration, the European Union will be in danger», warns President Tajani
On the sidelines of his today meeting in Vienna with Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz, EP President Antonio Tajani made it clear that main priority will be to find a clear solution to immigration. «Without a solution on immigration, the European Union will be in danger», he said.
On the sidelines of his today meeting in Vienna with Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz, whose country will run the Council Presidency from July to end of december, Antonio Tajani, the President of the European Parliament, made it clear that main priority will be to find a clear solution to immigration which «is the most important point for Europe». «We need to achieve a solution, negociate an agreement during the next European Council. The cooperation with Austria is good, we have the same positions on defence of external borders, we need to invest more in Africa, we need to achieve agreements with the African countries, we need to work hard also for the Dublin Rules». «It’s not easy, Tajani warned, but I think the first point is to defend external borders. We will work hard in this direction because without a solution on immigration, the European Union will be in danger. For this, we need to work without delay! European Parliament is pushing a lot and for this we want to work during the next six months with the Austrian presidency».
